Chris Angelini – Warewolves
The Commissioner of the league gets the honor of Player of the Week this week because he told me he’d fire me if he didn’t get at least 1 this season. So, I wanted to get it out of the way early. Angelini runs a very slow and methodical offense that lulls defenses to sleep, which allows him to strike for big plays. He only attempted 20 passes in the 52-24 win against the Red Jaguars, but he completed 16 of those attempts for 324 yards and 5 TDs. He also threw 2 interceptions on the day. The Commissioner is going to need to bring his A game next week as the 2-0 Warewolves will be taking on the 2-0 Shockers.
Craig Cicardo – Strangers with Candy
Cicardo is a newcomer in the league and he helped Strangers with Candy go toe to toe with perennial contender the Woodchucks. Strangers had a lead late, but would end up losing the heartbreaker 33-27. Cicardo did all he could do as he threw for 320 yards with 4 TDs and 1 interception. Cicardo will look to keep up the good work in Week 3 as Strangers (0-2) will take on the Money Team (1-1).
Kyle Spatz – Strangers with Candy
Spatz played out of his mind against the Woodchucks in the losing effort. No one on the Woodchucks could slow Kyle down as he hauled in 10 catches for 156 yards and 2 TDs. Kyle now sits on top the WR leaderboard as he has 15 catches for 245 yards and 3 TDs. The Money Team will have their hands full trying to stop Spatz in Week 3.
Jeremy Wozniak – Woodchucks
Wozniak was also unstoppable in the game of the Woodchucks against Strangers with Candy. Jeremy caught 6 catches for 113 yards and 3 TDs. Woz is now the leading receiver for the Woodchucks and ranked 4th on the JSGFFL leaderboard. He has 14 catches for 204 yards and 3 TDs after the first 2 weeks of the season, and is the only Woodchuck with over 100 yards receiving. The Woodchucks (2-0) will look to stay perfect as they battle the Rabid Squirrels (1-1) in Week 3.
Shane Capone – Warewolves
Capone was as big of a ball hawk as one can be as the Warewolves gave The Red Jaguars the business in Week 2. Capone would have record his first 2 interceptions on the season and would return both for TDs in Week 3. Capone is off to a slow start by his standards on offense, as he only ranks 5th on the leaderboard when he is used to seeing himself on top. This is not a too big a deal since the Warewolves are 2-0, and Shane has the most defensive TDs in the league.
Bryan Soletto – Shockers
Soletto had a great game for the Shockers on defense as they blew out the Money Team, 40-6. Soletto would walk away with 2 interceptions, which were his first 2 of the year. Soletto usually finds himself on top of the JSGFFL interception leaderboard every year, and he is now tied for 2nd with 2, behind his teammate Anthony Carlo, who has 3. The Shockers (2-0) will take on the Warewolves (2-0) in Week 3 in the battle of the unbeatens.
